On Wednesday 22nd December, we are streaming the GLOBAL UPDATE from Nimb. We look very much forward to welcoming the Danish Minister for Foreign Affairs, Jeppe Kofod as the opening keynote speaker and extremely pleased to be able to present Signe Krogstrup, Governor of Danmarks Nationalbank (VL3), CEO of Atos Medical Britt Meelby Jensen (VL46), Deputy Secretary General of OECD Ulrik Vestergaard Knudsen and Peter Kaas Hammer, CEO Kemp & Lauritzen (VL73) on stage at Nimb in the Global Update panel. VL Chairman Lisbeth Knudsen is moderating the session.

The Global Update gives a solid future-gaze of the world ahead in 2022 – Will the state of the world be different and even better in the coming year? What to expect from an international perspective and what political and economic trends should we watch out for? Will the financially robust Danish life science industry become the engine of the Danish economy? And how can companies navigate the changing supply chains and deal with the surging commodity prices? All these questions, and many more, will be topics for debate when we meet with our guest in the important Global Update panel on the 22nd of December.

“… Truly, remarkable …” …A quote by HRH Prince Charles about Felicity Aston. It is a great honor that multiple award-winning British polar explorer MBE (Order of the British Empire), Felicity Aston has accepted our invitation to speak at The Annual Danish Top Executive Summit on 26 October 2021. Felicity Aston is an Antarctic scientist turned author, speaker and expedition leader. In 2012 she became the first woman to ski alone across Antarctica. It was a journey of 1744km that took 59 days to complete and which gave her a place in the book of Guinness World Records. Her expeditions to mention a few have included a 6000km drive to the South Pole and a 36,000km drive to the Pole of Cold. Just having returned from Greenland in September, Felicity Aston gave a thought-provoking talk to the Senior Leaders and Directors of Arla in Denmark about how future leaders must embrace the essential ‘explorers mindset’ enabling them to tackle extreme conditions and the unknown …. the future. 

REBOOT! COVID-19 instantly changed how we live and work and will change our behavior long after the pandemic has let go of our society. Companies as well as the public sector plunged into implementing digital technologies, new business models and new processes with an unprecedented acceleration. The office moved home – into the living room or the kitchen. Shopping and entertainment went on-line and the large gatherings and events went into standby mode. Hard pressed by the situation, we learned a whole new meaning of change and agility. Of social responsibility. Of self-leadership and virtual leadership. 

The actions we take today to restart the Danish society can create a successful cycle for new growth and accelerate digitalization and green transition. Experience from previous recessions reveals that this is not only possible, but in fact an habitual factor of the effect of recessions.
