Signe Krogstrup is a Danish Economist and as of November 1st 2020 she holds the title of Governor of ´Danmarks Nationalbank´. Before being assigned the role as Governor, Signe Krogstrup served as Assistant Governor and Head of Economics and Monetary Policy, also at Danmarks Nationalbank (since June 2019). Signe Krogstrup has extensive international experience in economic research and monetary policy from many years of service with the Swiss National Bank and the IMF. She held a position as Chief Advisor in the Research Department at IMF from 2016 to 2019 and previously held a position as Deputy Director and Deputy Head of the Monetary Policy Analysis Unit at the Swiss National Bank in Zurich, Switzerland (2011 to 2015). Signe Krogstrup also resided and worked in Switzerland from 2007 to 2011 firstly as Senior Economist in the Monetary Policy Analysis Unit at the Swiss National Bank and later as Adviser to the Governor of the National Bank. Apart from Switzerland Signe Krogstrup also worked in Beirut, Lebanon under UN in the beginning of her career as Associate Economic Affairs Officer. Signe Krogstrup holds an MSc. in Economics from the University of Copenhagen (1999) and a PhD in International Economics from The Graduate Institute of International and Development Studies in Switzerland (2003).
